SR309 OPEN FOLLOWING FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN TAMAQUA

Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident, Centre Street, near South Tamaqua, 3-1-2015 (71) — Tamaqua Fire Police volunteer Brent Confer directs traffic from SR309 to Owl Creek Road.

State Route 309 (Centre Street) is open as of 9:45 AM this morning (Sunday, March 1, 2015) following a fatal motor vehicle accident this morning in Tamaqua, near the border of South Tamaqua/West Penn Township.
A 17-year-old girl from Nesquehoning died in the crash, and another badly injured.
Both directions were closed for about two hours while rescuers responded and police investigated. The accident involved 3 vehicles, 2 with heavy damage, near Country Tile.
