
Heaters and furnaces are working overtime as temperatures this morning (Tuesday, February 24, 2015) remain in the negative digits.
Expect temperatures to slowly rise throughout the day, reaching a high of 19 degrees around 4 PM. Wind chills will remain in the single-digits today into tomorrow.
Temperatures from Wednesday to Saturday will be about the same, with single-digit temperatures from night to morning and average temperatures in the low 20’s during the day.
A Wind Chill Advisory from the National Weather Service in State College remains in affect until 9 AM today:

* LOCATIONS… THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS AND CENTRAL MOUNTAINS INTO THE MIDDLE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY AND POCONOS.
* WIND CHILLS… 10 TO 15 DEGREES BELOW ZERO.
* TIMING… THROUGH MID MORNING.
* IMPACTS… FROSTBITE TO EXPOSED SKIN IN AS LITTLE AS 30 MINUTES.
* WINDS… WEST 5 MPH OR LESS.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
IF YOU WILL BE OUTDOORS… DRESS IN LAYERS AND WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES. YOUNG CHILDREN… THE ELDERLY AND THE HOMELESS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE TO THE COLD. APPROPRIATE ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN TO ENSURE PETS HAVE ADEQUATE PROTECTION FROM THE COLD TEMPERATURES.
