A BUSTLING CAR WASH IN TAMAQUA

The Blue Raid Car Wash on Cedar Street in Tamaqua was bumper to bumper.

Car washes throughout our area were bustling with activity today (Sunday, February 22, 2015) as people took advantage of unusually warmer weather. Temperatures reached as high as 44 degrees Fahrenheit around 3:30 PM.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
Expect temperatures to slowly drop this evening, reaching 25 degrees by 11 PM. Monday’s weather calls for snow flurries and an average temperature of 13 degrees.
Wind chills for Monday and Tuesday could reach 10 to 20 degrees below zero.


The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Wind Chill Advisory from 12:00 AM Monday to 9 AM Tuesday.

It reads:

… WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM EST TUESDAY…
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL ADVISORY… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM EST TUESDAY.
* WIND CHILLS… 10 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW ZERO.
* TIMING… MINIMUM WIND CHILLS MONDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.
* IMPACTS… FROSTBITE TO EXPOSED SKIN IN 30 MINUTES.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
IF YOU WILL BE OUTDOORS… DRESS IN LAYERS AND WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES. YOUNG CHILDREN… THE ELDERLY AND THE HOMELESS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE TO THE COLD. APPROPRIATE ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN TO ENSURE PETS HAVE ADEQUATE PROTECTION FROM THE COLD TEMPERATURES.
