Firefighters were quick to stop a fire from spreading to other parts of a home today (Saturday, February 21, 2015) in Lansford.
Emergency personnel were called to 1 Oak Street around 11:20 AM for a structure fire. Firefighters arrived and observed fire rising inside the first and second floor walls to the home.
In addition to the fire, responders had to battle single-digit temperatures and a frozen fire hydrant. Despite these obstacles, the fire was put under control within a few minutes.
Officials on scene stated the fire started from a pellet stove.
Responding were American Fire Company of Lansford, Summit Hill Fire Company, Coaldale Fire Company and others. Also responding were Lansford Police and Lehighton Ambulance.
Fire Police controlled traffic for the duration.
No injuries were observed.
