C.A.R.E.S. staff and clients in Tamaqua held a Hoodie Hoo today (Friday, February 20, 2015) outside St. John’s United Church of Christ in Tamaqua. A tradition for the most of the northern states, Hoodie Hoo is held at noon every February 20 to either welcome spring or scare away winter. The tradition involves anyone dressing in decorative or scary attire and yelling “hoodie hoo” as loud as they can.
Today was the perfect day for Hoodie Hoo since temperatures reached minus 8 degrees and included wind chills in the negative twenties.
