Many Tamaquans awoke to Fahrenheit temperatures reaching into the negative digits this morning (Monday, February 16, 2015). In addition, blistering winds resulted in minus 25-degree wind chills in some areas.
As of 6:30 AM, temperatures in our region ranged around minus 4 degrees, with a wind chill of negative 23 degrees. Temperatures are expected to slowly increase throughout the day, reaching 16 degrees by 4 PM. Wind chills will range in the high single-digits for most of the day. Over night lows will be in the low teens.
Tuesday’s weather calls for on-and-off snow showers in the morning and flurries the rest of the day. Expect an accumulation of less than an inch of snow. Temperatures will range around 20 degrees most of the day, dropping down to the single digits early Wednesday morning.
Thursday’s low will reach minus 7 degrees.
Despite a sunny forecast, the remainder of the week shows temperatures averaging in high single-digits.

FYI: There were numerous conflicting readings early this morning on people’s digital devices (IE cell phones, cars). Readings that did not rely on digital-only sensors or computerized algorithms seemed to be more accurate. Apparently, the old technology still works better. 🙂
