Information below from the Schuylkill County Visitors Bureau:
Another annual February tradition in Schuylkill County is the History Fair at the Fairlane Village Mall on the 14th. Visitors always find Schuylkill County to be an exciting natural and historic community and what better place to tap into it? The history of Schuylkill County is inextricably bound to the history of the United States anthracite industry. Although the settlement of Schuylkill County occurred long before the discovery of the “black diamonds” that would fuel the nation’s industrial revolution, it is anthracite coal that forged our region into the rich diverse community it is today. This event offers an abundance of photographs, artifacts, and collectibles detailing our county’s rich cultural heritage and is sure to have something for everyone.

During a discussion about our community’s history, it’s only fitting I mention the folks who’ve worked hard to preserve our heritage for us. The Schuylkill County Historical Society has been in the business of preserving our county’s history, and educating the communities on the many great contributions put forth by our ancestors since 1903. And they’re not alone. Orwigsburg, Pine Grove, Cressona, Ashland, Mahanoy City, Shenandoah, Frackville, Minersville, Port Clinton, Saint Clair, Schuylkill Haven, Tamaqua and Tri-Valley area all have historical societies with a dedicated cadre of volunteers working toward the common goal of preserving our heritage, educating our residents and instilling pride in our communities.

The mall is located at 7211 Route 61 in Pottsville.
