A school bus was rear-ended by a pickup truck around 8:30 AM this morning (Tuesday, February 10, 2015) along SR309 in West Penn Township. There were no students on the bus.
Both vehicles could be seen parked in front of South Tamaqua Coal Pockets, located on the southbound side of SR309.
The bus, operated by Kistler Transportation for the Tamaqua Area School District, suffered minor damage to its rear bumper and was able to drive away. The Chevy pickup truck had to be towed from the scene.
Neither drivers suffered serious injury, according to a passerby.
Tamaqua Area School District had a two-hour delay this morning.
