According to CNN.com, Facebook and Instagram have been down since 12:10 AM (E.S.T.) in some areas.

The amount of people checking DownWhere.com was so high that the website gave an error as well.
It read: Error – High Volume of Traffic. We are currently experiencing a high volume of traffic.  DownWhere.com asked for everyone to follow them on Twitter for updates. Their Twitter page is http://www.twitter.com/downwhere.
