A driver escaped serious injury this evening (Tuesday, January 27, 2015) after losing control and crashing into a railroad crossing signal in Rush Township. The incident occurred near the intersection of Still Creek Road/Fairview Street and Church Road, adjacent to Air Products.
According to a witness on scene after the crash, the impact caused the railroad sign to travel through the front and back window of the vehicle (a Kia sport utility vehicle), which traveled on the track for a short distance after the crash.
Air bags were deployed and the vehicle sustained heavy damage to its front and roof.
Amazingly, there appeared to be no serious injuries. Only one person was in the vehicle.
The vehicle was removed by Hope’s Towing.
No more information is available.
