DRIVER CRASHES VEHICLE INTO TREE IN TIDEWOOD INDUSTRIAL PARK EAST IN HOMETOWN

Driver Crashes into Tree in Tidewood Industrial Park, Hometown, 1-25-2015 (19)A Tamaqua man was taken to the hospital yesterday morning (Sunday, January 25, 2015) after crashing his sport utility vehicle into a tree in the Tidewood Industrial Park East in Hometown (Rush Township).
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 7:45 AM to Progress Avenue, just south of the Tide Road intersection, for a report of a vehicle into a tree with injury.
Rush Township Police Sergeant Duane Frederick reported that Tomas Nunemacher, 47, of Tamaqua, was traveling south on Progress Avenue in a 2012 Kia when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway, traveled through the woods and struck a tree. Frederick added that Nunemacher was transported to St Luke’s Hospital in Coaldale via ambulance for unknown injuries.
The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene by Ziegler’s Auto Repair and Towing.
Originally dispatched were Hometown Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue and others. Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance, and Hometown Fire Police also responded.
