A woman escaped serious injury after flipping her vehicle on US209 between New Philadelphia and Port Carbon in East Norwegian Township this morning (Tuesday, January 20, 2015).
The incident occurred just before 9:45 AM and involved a blue 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. Firefighters said the driver was traveling west on US209 when she overshot the turn, impacted brush, went airborne and overturned the vehicle. They added that she was able to get out of the vehicle on her own.
Workers from Boyer’s Auto Body helped victim until emergency personnel and police arrive.
Nearby residents stated that the area is common for vehicle accidents.
Responding were St. Clair Police, and Goodwill Fire Company No. 1 of Port Carbon, Good Intent Volunteer Fire Company of New Philadelphia and Good Will Hose Company of Cumbola.
A & F Auto Body of Kaska removed the vehicle.
