CREWS ON SCENE OF SECOND WATER MAIN LEAK IN HOMETOWN; REPAIRS TO LAST INTO THE EVENING

Water Main Leak, Cumberland Avenue, Hometown, 1-19-2015 (7)Tamaqua Area Water Authority and Rush Township workers are preparing to perform repairs on a second water main leak on Cumberland Avenue in Hometown (Rush Township).
Initially, crews were called around 7:30 AM today (Monday, January 19, 2015) to the area of 93-73 Cumberland Avenue (between Lincoln and  Sunset Street) for a water main leak.
Automated phone calls were made by the water authority alerting customers in the area.
As of 2:30 PM, repairs were being finalized.
While performing repairs, workers noticed a second water main break about a block south on Cumberland Avenue.
Authority workers said water will be shut-off to areas around the second leak. They added that the water might be discolored due to reverse pressure done to the lines. No water boil advisory is in effect.
Repairs are expected to continue into the late evening.
