50 YEARS ON THE ICE IN TUSCARORA

Pictured ice fishing this afternoon (Monday, January 19, 2015) on the Tuscarora Lake at the Tuscarora State Park are Angelo Tolerico, 72, of Tresckow, (left) and Ray Miller, 77, of Hazleton. Both said they’ve been ice fishing for over 50 years. They added that they normally catch a trout or two, although today wasn’t as fruitful.
A recent cold snap has resulted in an 8-inch layer of ice on the lake.
“It’s is better than watching television,” said Tolerico. “We simply enjoy the outdoors and what it has to offer.”
