Three people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident this afternoon in Rush Township.
Emergency personnel were called to Claremont Avenue (SR309) at the intersection of Fairview Street/Ben Titus Road around 2:40 PM for a head-on collision with injuries.
Rush Township Police reported that Kevin Quirk, 58, of Hometown was traveling south on SR309 in a 2001 Dodge when Ricardo Rynkiewicz, 52, of Tamaqua, turned into the path of Quirk. They added that Rynkiewicz was attempting to turn onto Fairview Street from Claremont Avenue. Anthony Androkitis, 54, of Tamaqua, was a passenger in Quirk’s vehicle. All three were injured.
Responding were Hometown Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue, Delano Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company, McAdoo Ambulance, Rush Township Police and others.
Hope’s Towing removed the vehicles.
Hometown Fire Police controlled traffic around the scene.
