The incident, which involved a black Ford Fusion driven by the man, occurred around 3:30 AM in the middle of the first block of North Greenwood Street. Damage shows that the Fusion was traveling south on North Greenwood Street when it first struck a gold 2014 Ford Escape parked on the northbound side. The impact pushed the Escape on the sidewalk and into the front of a 2014 white Ford Fiesta parked behind it. The owner of the second Ford Escape said this was the second time in about eight months his vehicle was hit in front of his house. He added that the other accident occurred April 6.
There was a thin layer of snow on the road prior to the accident, although it is not known if that was related to the cause.
Responding were Tamaqua Police, East End Fire Company, American Hose Company, Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance and others.
