Officers from the Tamaqua Police Department, Schuylkill County Drug Task Force, Rush Township Police and Pennsylvania State Police K-9 Unit conducted an arrest sweep around 7 AM today (Monday, January 12, 2015) in the boroughs of Tamaqua and Coaldale.
The arrests were part of a six month investigation which started after a June 2014 drug sweep and ended in November 2014.

Those charged by Tamaqua Police consisted of:
– Derek M. Hunsicker, 26, of Tamaqua;
– Joel T. Vermillion, 24, of Tamaqua;
– Francisco Aponte Jr., 24, of Tamaqua;
– Elizabeth Tansley, 26, of Tamaqua;
– Kevin J. Tansley, 28, of Tamaqua;
– Zachary D. Hoffman, 23, of Tamaqua;
– Sara T. Lucykanish, 20, of Lehighton;
– Daniel M. Fink, 31, of Lehighton.

All were charged by Tamaqua Police Chief Rick Weaver, officer Anthony Stanell and officer Thomas Rodgers with crimes stemming from the delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. All eight were committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of bail.
Drugs involved were Heroin and Methamphetamine.
