MAN DEAD AND WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED DURING SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN BANKS TOWNSHIP

Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident, at 2117 Berwick Street, SR93, Banks Township, 1-11-2015 (48)A Beaver Meadows man was pronounced dead and female passenger taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle accident on Berwick Street (State Route 93) in Banks Township, Carbon County.
The incident occurred around 9:50 AM today (Sunday, January 11, 2015) just north of Beaver Meadows.
WNEP TV’s story stated police said John Molosky, 68, of Beaver Meadows, was traveling south on Berwick Street when he traveled off the roadway and hit a tree. Molosky was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Gloria Phyllis Molosky, 67, also of Beaver Meadows, was the passenger in the vehicle. She was transported to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest medical center with serious injuries.
Over 100 feet of tire tracks could be seen in the snow leading from road through multiple front yards to the crash site. The vehicle, which missed numerous trees and a utility pole, crashed into a fence, tree and brush near the front yard of 2117 Berwick Street.
Two helicopters were initially dispatched, but later canceled.
Responding were State Police from Hazleton, fire companies from Beaver Meadows, Weatherly, Tresckow and McAdoo, Carbon County coroner, and numerous ambulance crews.
