According to witnesses, a 19-year-old from Summit Hill was the alleged hit-and-run driver of a Chevy Cavalier that drove away after heavily damaging two vehicles on Willing Street in Tamaqua Thursday night (January 8, 2015).
The incident occurred around 7:30 PM Thursday on the 300 block of Willing Street.
Damaged were a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta and 2011 Ford F-150 FX4, both belonging to Chris and Jacquelyn Hartz.
Witnesses said the Cavalier collided with the Jetta and then “clobbered” the back of the F-150 – pushing it up onto the side walk.
They added that the Cavalier then fled the scene traveling the wrong way on Willing Street. It was later found in the area of Clark/Willing/Glenwood Avenue.
The identity of the 19-year-old is not known. A witness added that the 19-year-old was taken to the Tamaqua Police station a short time later.
