TRACTOR TRAILER STUCK IN A DITCH IN HOMETOWN

Tractor Trailer Stuck in Ditch along Lincoln Street, Hometown, 1-9-2015 (10)The driver of a tractor trailer got himself stuck in a ditch around 6 PM today (Friday, January 9, 2015) at the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Oak Lane in Hometown.
It took multiple towing vehicles (from Hope’s Towing) to lift and remove the trailer out of the ditch and back on to the road.
In addition to getting stuck, the driver toppled a metal sign. The sign, one of two at the intersection, told tractor trailer drivers not to turn here.
The driver of the tractor told Rush Township patrolman Thomas Fort that his GPS gave him wrong directions. He added that the rig was loaded with batteries and he was headed to the old Morgan’s warehouse next to UPS on Lincoln Avenue.
Responding in addition to police were Hometown Fire Police and volunteers with the Hometown Fire Company.
Lincoln drive was closed in the area for about an hour and a half.
No injuries were reported.
