Every holiday season, the Tree Lighting transports audiences to a magical place of serenity and joy.

For over 30 years, Russel Keich and the folks at Stonehedge Gardens have labored to share the warmth and beauty of the annual Tree Lighting, truly a festival of lights. It is a massive project that takes hundreds of hours. The tree preparation starts the day after Halloween and is completed and ready for the first showing the day after Thanksgiving.

The tree lighting has become the cornerstone of Stonehedge Gardens fundraising events.

Adorning the 18-foot tree are innumerable porcelain, blown glass, antique, and hand-made ornaments and over three hundred feet of glittering Strauss Crystal, placed amidst Stonehedge’s own magnificent, illuminated poinsettias and snowflakes.

Over 14,000 lights of various hues controlled by 25 separate dimmers are choreographed to beautiful classical music of the season creating an atmosphere of ethereal warmth.

The performance is followed by refreshments of holiday punch, coffee and cookies and an opportunity to share the magic with others.
