Today (Friday, December 5, 2014) marks the first day of Tamaqua’s 3-Day Spirit of Christmas Festival.
Starting at 6 PM, Santa, Mrs. Claus and their escort of motorized elves will depart the Tamaqua Borough Garage and head west on Broad Street towards the Five Points intersection. The parade will stop for a short while at the Depot Square Park for the Clauses to illuminate the park and fountain.
Afterwards, the parade will continue to the Tamaqua Community Arts Center (125 Pine Street). At the center, kids will be able to meet and take photos (bring your cameras) with both Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Tamaqua Elementary School fifth-grader Olivia Brown, 11, will serve as this year’s Little Miss Spirit of Christmas.

6:00 PM –> Santa Parade & Depot Square Park Illumination (sponsored by Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce)
6:30 PM to 8:30 PM –> Christmas Tree Festival at Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine Street.
7:00 PM –> Visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus at Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine Street. (sponsored by Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce)
7:30 PM –> A Christmas Carol – The Musical at Strawberry Playhouse, 60 Church Street, Tuscarora. (more info)
8:00 PM –> A Winnie-The-Pooh Christmas Tale at Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine Street. (more info)
