
A tractor-trailer driver was taken to the hospital today (Wednesday, November 26, 2014) after crashing his rig on Interstate 81 northbound at mile marker 134.4.
The crash, which occurred just after 12 PM, resulted in the closure of one northbound lane. As of 1:45 PM, crews with ACT Towing were still removing the rig.
The male driver was transported by McAdoo BLS Ambulance to Hazleton General Hospital.
Dispatched were State Police, Ryan Township Fire & Rescue and Delano Fire Company.
Around 1:50 PM, firefighters were also dispatched to another vehicle accident at mile marker 134 southbound.
Today’s snowfall has resulted in numerous vehicle accidents and road closures throughout our area.
