TRUCK SHEERS FIRE HYDRANT IN TAMAQUA; DELAYED POST (Nov. 17, 2014)

A tri-axle truck sheered a fire hydrant last Monday (November 17, 2014) at the intersection of South Columbia and Arlington Street in Tamaqua.
The incident occurred around 5 PM.
Like most hydrants in our area, the hydrant was a dry hydrant. A dry hydrant is a non-pressurized pipe. Dry hydrants keep the water below the freezing line.
No one was injured.
Tamaqua Police responded.
