
Tamaqua Girl Scout Rachael Paisley was presented a Certificate of Achievement from the Tamaqua Borough for numerous community projects during the Tamaqua Borough Council’s meeting on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.
Tamaqua Mayor Chris Morrison, who presented the award, said, “I am very privileged to hand this award out on behalf of myself, borough council and the folks in Tamaqua.”
He continued, reading the certificate, “In recognition for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award for her project. Rachael organized Breast Cancer Awareness walks in downtown Tamaqua on October 2013 and 2014. Earning the Gold Award is a remarkable accomplishment and requires hard work, dedication and leadership. The borough of Tamaqua commends Rachael Paisley for earning the Girls Scouts highest award and honor.”
Some other activities include Tamaqua Area Student Government, school emergency reponse team, Big Brother/Big Sister program, school Blue and White Magazine, National Society of High School Scholars, Tri-M Music Honor Society and Tamaqua Area Relay For Life.
Paisley, a 12-year member of the scouts, also served as a girl scout delegate and earned her Bronze, Silver and Gold in scouts.
