Tamaqua Seniors triumphed during the Tamaqua High School’s Biology Club’s Annual Powder Puff Football Tournaments held Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Tamaqua Area Sports Stadium.
Powder Puff games are flag football games between girls from four high school classes.
The first game consisted of Freshman versus Juniors, with the Juniors winning. The second game consisted of Seniors versus Sophomores, with the Seniors winning. The final game consisted of Juniors versus seniors, with Seniors winning during overtime.
Prior to the start of the game, Nathan Bastanzi performed the National Anthem.
The event was under the supervision of Roseann Weinrich, biology teacher, who expressed her appreciation to all the spectators and students who got involved to help support the cause.
Funds from the ticket sales will be used to support the local Toys For Tots campaign.
