An employee of M & S Hardware in Tamaqua was transported to the hospital for injuries he suffered in an early Tuesday morning (November 11, 2014).
Emergency personnel were dispatched just before 9 AM to the store, 10 West Broad Street, for an industrial accident with possible entrapment.
When responders arrived, the employee was freed.
Firefighters said that the employee was using a small machine lift when a hydraulic hose apparently failed, resulting in the machinery trapping employee’s arm.
A Times News newspaper article online said the unidentified was treated at the scene by Tamaqua Community Ambulance personnel and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital – Miners Campus, Coaldale, where he was treated for arm injuries.
