PARTS OF CEDAR STREET AND EAST MAUCH CHUNK STREET IN TAMAQUA TO BE CLOSED TUESDAY IN TAMAQUA FOR ROAD WORK

road closedOn Tuesday (October 14, 2014), contractors will mill and pave the Cedar and Center Street (US209) intersection in Tamaqua. Cedar Street will be closed from Boyer’s Food Market to Center Street beginning at 8:45 AM Tuesday and remain closed until paving is completed.
In addition, contractors will install the pedestrian signal at its original location by Burger King and install the optical sensor for Cedar Street. This will bring the stop bar back on Cedar Street.
After they are done milling on Cedar Street, they will go to Mauch Chunk Street to mill from Greenwood Street to Schuylkill Avenue. During milling, Mauch Chunk Street will be closed from Market Street to Schuylkill Avenue.
On Wednesday, East Mauch Chunk Street will be paved from Greenwood Street to Schuylkill Avenue.  East Mauch Chunk Street will be closed during the paving.
On Friday, workers with Signal Controls will return traffic light sequencing back to normal (prior to the East Broad Street Bridge work).
