POLICE INVESTIGATING TWO HOME BURGLARIES IN RYAN AND RUSH TOWNSHIPS

burglaries burglary break inPolice are investigated two home burglaries that occurred in Rush Township and Ryan Township over the past week.
The first burglary occurred sometime between Tuesday, September 30 and Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 50 Long Lane in Barnesville (Ryan Township). Multiple items were allegedly stolen; to include two $2 bills, 10 gold coins, various Russian rubles, a British five-pound not, one 1984 silver dollar, white/gold/blue sapphire pendant, one pair blue sapphire, blue sapphire white/gold ring, one pair blue sapphire tear-shaped earrings, gold necklace with jockey horse pendent, gold necklace with clear heart with horse inside, and two flat gold bracelets. Estimated value of items was $2,793.
The second burglary occurred on Thursday, October 2, 2014 around 10:45 AM at 98 Mahanoy Avenue (SR54) in Hometown. Rush Township Police stated their police station’s surveillance camera was able to see a parked vehicle in front of the residence. They added that one male exited the vehicle and returned 16 minutes later. About $700 was taken from the house. Police Sergeant Duane Frederick added that the front passenger side rim looked like it was missing a center piece.
