Firefighters were quick to gain control of a structure fire tonight (Sunday, October 5, 2014) in Barnesville (Ryan Township). Emergency personnel were called just before 10 PM to 48 Chee Street for a report of a house fire.
They arrived to a see an unattached gazebo fully ablaze with flames spreading to the back of the nearby home.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to the home to reach hotspots and vent the heat and smoke.
The garage/gazebo was leveled by the blaze. The back of the home suffered substantial damage.
There were no reports of injuries.
Responding were Ryan Township Fire Company, Ryan Township Ambulance, Ryan Township Police, Hometown Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company, Delano Fire Company and Citizen’s Fire Company of Mahanoy City.
Hometown Fire Police controlled traffic on Chee Street.
