
UPDATE:
An online news report states that Todd Dohner, 48, of Pine Grove, is in custody regarding two threats left overnight on the Schuylkill County Courthouse phone answering system. The phone messages stated that someone, referencing the word “terrorist”, would shoot up a school if the courthouse wasn’t evacuated.
Dohner was charged with felony terroristic threats, felony criminal use of a communication facility and persistent disorderly conduct.

The Schuylkill County Courthouse was closed around 11 AM today (Friday, October 3, 2014) and all county schools were alerted due to a threat of violence left overnight on the courthouse telephone answering system.
As of 12:30 PM today, Pottsville Area School District was the only district placed on lock down. Some schools have added extra security.
A news report online states that a few schools were put on lockdown and given early dismissals.
Tamaqua Borough Councilman Justin Startzel said on Facebook:
“I emailed our Police Chief about the situation at the county. He informed me that the Tamaqua Police force is showing a presence at our Schools and that all schools are secured.”

Schools are taking action following a warning from county emergency management officials about a threat to shoot up a school.
Pottsville Area School District is under locked down and extra security is being provided, according to superintendent Jeffrey Zwiebel.
Assumption BVM in Pottsville dismissed at noon.
Blue Mountain School District Superintendent Dr. Robert L. Urzillo sent out recorded message to parents cell phones stating the district had received the warning and is not on lock down and would stay open. Urzillo said district personnel have been advised of the threat and are advising teachers to close windows, draw shades and be vigilant.

The Schuylkill County Courthouse was closed Friday morning and all county schools are on the alert after authorities received threats from a source claiming to be terrorists.
According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky, two voice messages were left overnight on the Schuylkill County courthouse telephone system. The messages, left by a male voice, warned that, if the courthouse is not evacuated by noon Friday, the caller’s terrorist group would shoot up a school.
Wojciechowsky said the courthouse was closed for safety reasons and all county school districts have been notified and are enacting advanced security measures. He said the Pottsville Police will have an extra presence during school dismissal today.
