FINAL PAVING PLANNED WEDNESDAY ON EAST BROAD STREET BRIDGE IN TAMAQUA; NO DATE ANNOUNCED FOR RE-OPENING

A contractor temporarily moves a “bridge closed” sign while fellow contractors prepare the roadway for paving.

A subcontractor told TamaquaArea.com that final portions of their work to the East Broad Street (US209) Bridge will be finished this week. He said that they are expected to complete the final paving this Wednesday (October 1, 2014) or Thursday. He added that the only remaining work will involve cosmetic items, such as lighting and road markings.
Unofficially speaking, the contractor stated his high anticipation that the bridge will be open prior to Tamaqua’s Halloween Parade on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
No official opening date has been announced yet.
