FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO COUCH FIRE ALONG OLD ROUTE 209 IN SCHUYLKILL TOWNSHIP; SECOND FIREBUG INCIDENT IN THREE DAYS

Firefighters Respond to Couch Fire Along Old Route 209, Schuylkill Township, 9-26-2014 (9)Firefighters were called to Old 209 Road in Schuylkill Township for an unknown type fire around 1:15 PM today (Friday, September 26, 2014).
Upon arrival, firefighters notice a couch set on fire along the road, near the Newkirk Spring. Dispatched were Tuscarora Fire Company and Mary D Fire Company.
Around 7:30 PM on Wednesday (September 24, 2014), firefighters were called to a burning pile of tires behind the Tamaqua Soccer Field. South Ward Fire Company and Citizen’s Fire Company responded to that fire.
Anyone with information about either incident should call police if they have any useful information.
