The 2nd Annual “COLORS for Education” 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Tamaqua Area School District Sports Stadium. The event, which also includes a 1/4 mile run for ages 3-8, involves participants being “plastered” with colored powder as they run through the course.
Registration (for ages 9 and up) begins at 8:30 AM, with race starting at 10 AM.
“A one-of-a-kind experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying time with friends and family while becoming a human canvas,” said volunteer Johanna Ulicny. She added that the event is for runners and walkers of all speeds, ages, shapes and sizes.

Participants are asked to wear white shirt and be plastered with color throughout the course. All color products are 100 percent natural and safe.
Early registration is $20 and ends on September 13, 2014. Following registrations cost $30. Early registrations are guaranteed a t-shirt.
The event benefits the Tamaqua Blue Raider Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to enhance education in Tamaqua schools by funding educational initiatives that are outside the school district’s budget.
