Velazquez, ride organizer, said the three are doing the bike ride to raise funds for the teen group’s trip to the Dallas Texas Thanksgiving Day football game. 10 teens from the Tamaqua area are to attend the game and take part in the Salvation Army’s Kettle Kick-Off program at the halftime show. “In order for us to make this possible, we need to fundraise for our trip,” said Velazquez.
Volunteers will then travel back to Tamaqua courtesy of a support vehicle, which will follow behind the volunteers during the trip.
He added, “Your gracious donation will help pay for travel expense, hotel accommodations, and food expense.”
To support the volunteers, make donations payable to Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 West Broad Street, Tamaqua PA 18252. Put “Bike Ride” in the comment section.
