Only 3 minutes after a train passed, firefighters and other emergency crews worked together to help a driver lift his car from atop train tracks in Barnesville early this morning (Wednesday, September 3, 2014).
The incident occurred around 5 AM at the railroad crossing on SR1018 while emergency personnel were on scene of another motor vehicle accident. Click HERE to view that story.
The driver of the car (a grey Pontiac GS) turned onto SR1018 to avoid the accident scene. That is when, for some unknown reason, the driver went straight onto the tracks instead of following the road. The area isn’t lit well.
Emergency personnel were quick to help the driver get his vehicle off the tracks and back onto the road.
