UPDATE 1:
An unofficial, but reliable source, stated that the alleged pickup truck was involved in a hit-and-run shortly after 4 PM today on Poplar Street in Hazleton and police are searching the areas.
Rush Township Police told the source that the vehicle has heavy front-end damage.
A state police helicopter is currently flying around the Hazleton/Tresckow area.
Police are on scene of a bank robbery at the Mauch Chunk Trust, 226 Claremont Avenue/SR309, in Hometown (Rush Township) after two men robbed the bank shortly after 2 PM today (Tuesday, August 26, 2014).
According to scanner traffic, an all-points bulletin was put out for a hunter green or navy blue (older model pickup truck with two occupants, with possible license plate numbers HCS-9343. Those numbers reportedly traced back to a stolen license plate in Scranton.
The getaway vehicle was last seen pulling away from the back of the back north on Cumberland Avenue, and then onto SR309.
The robbers were possibly armed. One of the suspects, wearing a stocking over his face, was described as a black male over 6-foot tall, wearing a black coat and dark jeans. The man was also said to be wearing a baseball cap with blue lettering.
Responding were police departments from Rush Township, Tamaqua, Kline Township, McAdoo and others.

An attempted robbery at a Hazleton bank occurred around 1:30 PM today. It is not known if both incidents are related.
