Organizers are holding a Charity Challenge 5K Run, 5K Walk and 1-Mile Kids Fun Run race on Sunday, August 31, 2014 starting at Heisler’s Dairy Bar in Walker Township.
The race will start at 10 AM and stretch through the rolling roadways of the Lewistown Valley.
The event is billed as “the race to benefit everybody”, as every charity or non-profit organization can enter runners or walkers in the event and begin raising money for their cause by obtaining sponsors. All money raised will be retained by the organization raising it. AND, if you are feeling competitive, the overall race winner gets to choose where a lump sum of money will be donated by the race event. So, get your members in the race, and start raising money OR just challenge yourself on this great course, with no sponsors needed. Organizers state, “Just have fun!”
