Mark Goff, 39, of Jim Thorpe, was flown via helicopter to a hospital after crashing his motorcycle around 6:35 PM today (Sunday, August 24, 2014) along the 900 block of Valley Road in Walker Township (Lewistown Valley/Tamaqua).
Goff, the only person on the motorcycle, was riding with a group of riders southwest on Valley Road (T858) when he lost control after hitting soft grass while negotiating a turn.
Unofficial reports stated he had a broken leg and other related injuries.
A Med-Evac helicopter landed on a large field next to the nearby township building to transport Goff to Lehigh Valley Trauma Center.
Firefighters closed that section of Valley Road during the response.
Responding were Walker Township/New England Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Citizen’s Fire Company of Tamaqua, Schuylkill Haven-Pottsville-Orwigsburg Ambulance, and New Ringgold Ambulance.
