Participants and staff with the Northeastern Pennsylvania for Camp Sight spent time on Friday (August 14, 2014) making a number of clay projects during a class held via the Black Diamond Pottery of the Tamaqua Community Arts Center (TCAC).
The camp is hosted by the Greater Wilkes-Barre Association for the Blind and Community Services for Sight in Hazleton.
“The camp allows visually impaired youths the opportunity to participate in the same activities as their sighted peers,” said Lori LeSante, President and CEO, Community Services for Sight.
Christine Zaborney, Co-Director for Sight, said the Hazleton location serves participants in Southern Luzerne, Carbon and Schuylkill counties.
Craig Bulger, instructor, Black Diamond Pottery, said that all the participants and staff really enjoyed themselves during their visit.
