The driver of a tractor trailer was injured today (Wednesday, August 13, 2014) after his truck’s side mirror came in contact with a side mirror of another tractor trailer traveling the opposite direction on the Hometown Hill (SR309) in Rush Township. The incident, which involved two tractors, occurred around 2 PM today in the area in front of Seitz Brothers Exterminating. The tractor trailer traveling north was owned by Superior Overnight Services out of Illinois, while the tractor trailer traveling south was owned by J.B. Hunt out of Oklahoma.
Witnesses on scene state the injury didn’t appear life-threatening.
It is unknown who was at fault, or the extent of any injuries.
Rush Township Police Sergeant Duane Frederick is the investigating officer.
Responding in addition to police were Tamaqua Ambulance, Hometown Fire Company and Quakake Fire Company. Hometown Fire Police and Quakake Fire Police also responded.
