An unidentified driver was taken to the hospital after driving his pick-up truck the wrong way along North Railroad Street (SR309) and impacting a parked van in Tamaqua Friday evening (August 8, 2014).
A witness, who identified the man as “older man”, said the man, driving a blue Ford pickup truck, turned north off of Elm Street into oncoming southbound traffic on North Railroad Street. He impacted the rear passenger-side of a parked van shortly after.
Officials on scene stated the man appeared to have a medical condition.
No other injuries were observed. The damage to the van was not major.
Responding were Tamaqua Police, firefighters, ambulance and others.
Hope’s Towing removed the pickup truck.
Tamaqua Police are investigating.
