The body of an infant was found in the trash early this morning (Tuesday, August 5, 2014) outside 189 Winfield Drive in Blythe Township (between Brockton and Middleport).
The Republican Herald story said, “County Coroner Dr. David Moylan said a resident at the home alerted authorities around 3 AM after smelling a strong odor coming from the trash. A deputy coroner pronounced the days-old infant dead at 4:48 AM, Moylan said. The cause of death remains unknown and an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday morning, Moylan said.”
Pennsylvania State police at Frackville are handling the investigation.
The coroner didn’t release the identity or if the baby’s gender.
