The Tamaqua Water Authority has hired a contractor to replace a full section of the main tomorrow.
During the repairs, temporary service will again be provided by pumping water from the fire hydrant located at Market Street and Union Streets to the hydrant at Union and Elizabeth Streets.
The notice reads: “After repairs have been made and normal service has been restored, the system will be flushed and water samples taken. The water samples will be taken to an independent lab to be tested for bacteria. We will inform you when all corrective actions have been completed and when you no longer need to boil your water.”
The notice asks residents to share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may have not received this notice directly.
It is unknown when the water boil advisory will be lifted.
