The Tamaqua Community Arts Center is holding an art show today (Thursday, July 24, 2014) from 6 PM to 9 PM at the center. The show features works by Irene Miller of Hazleton.

“Irene is from Hazleton, PA, where she was born and lived most of her life. Working as a water color artist, who creates art from pictures and ideas that inspire her; has become her favorite pastime. Most of her art roots can be found back in her years of high school art classes. Although many different types of arts and crafts have always been a large part of her life, it wasn’t until in 2010 after experiencing the loss of her job after of 26 years of working that she returned to drawing, painting and creating pictures. Her art has been displayed at Hazleton’s “First Night” and in Boscov’s Hazleton restaurant, “The Greenery.”
Irene is a member of the Hazleton Art League and a volunteer at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center where she has displayed her art in Large Group Art show in June of 2014. She will be teaching a class on Green Art Flowers on August 7 at The Center at 6 PM. Today she is proud to share some of her pictures with you.”
