
Firefighters from a number of area fire departments took part yesterday (Tuesday, July 22, 2014) in the ladder training section of the Pennsylvania Essentials of Fire Fighting 1 (Basic Module) course taught at the Tamaqua Fire Department Training Grounds (along SR309 north of the borough).
The “Essentials – Basic Module / Firefighter 1” training involves about 196 hours of training.
Participating in the current training are firefighters from American Hose Company in Tamaqua, Citizen’s Fire Company in Tamaqua, South Ward Fire Company in Tamaqua, Ryan Township Fire Company, Hometown Fire Company, West Penn Fire Company and Cressona Fire Company.
Tamaqua’s South Ward Fire Company is sponsoring the training.
Instructors are Brian Hollenbush and Mike Minnig.
