Members of the Tamaqua Salvation Army are in need of volunteers to help during their first annual ‘Kidz Karnival’ set for Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the North Railroad Street parking lot (in front of the Tamaqua Train Station). Volunteers will be needed to man games, as well as help setup and cleanup.
A meeting for Salvation Army Kidz Karnival volunteers is being held today (Wednesday, July 23, 2014) starting at 6 PM at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 West Broad Street. All volunteers and those who may be interested in volunteering should attend.
The Kidz Karnival Event will occur on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 2 PM to 9 PM. It is being held in conjunction with Tamaqua’s National Night Out Celebration.
All proceeds from the carnival benefit the ongoing community efforts of the Tamaqua Salvation Army. There will be numerous rides, games, activities and food for kids of all ages.
“If you cannot be a Karny, you might consider sponsoring tickets for children who may not be able to afford to purchase their own or donate a needed item such as a tent(s) to shelter our various booths,” said Dina Depos, Development Associate/Programs Coordinator, Tamaqua Salvation Army.
For additional information about the Karnival event or to volunteer, call the Tamaqua Salvation Army at (570) 668-0410. during the day or (570) 668-1234 afterwards.
