St. Joseph’s Annual 3-Day Parish Festival is scheduled for today (Friday, July 18th, 2014) to Sunday (July 20th, 2014) inside and outside their church in Summit Hill.
Friday’s festival runs from 6 PM to 10 PM, with Jay Smar playing coal region music from 6:30 PM to 10 PM.
Saturday’s festival runs from 5 PM to 10 PM, with music by Party Dawgs from 6 PM to 10 PM. An indoor, air-conditioned mass will also be held on Saturday at 4 PM. A Two Saints Scamper and Horseshoe Tournament will also be held Saturday (see below for more info).
Sunday’s festival runs from 5 PM to 10 PM, with music by Asking Andy. A Saint Gabriel Procession through the borough will be held 3:30 PM – followed by benediction. Sunday’s festival ends with a fireworks display at 10 PM.
Activities include rides for kids, dunk tank, games, raffles, themed-basket Chinese auction, bake sale, plant sale, Parish gift stand, festival cash drawing, and so on.
Kids rides are $1 per ticket or $18 for 20 tickets. Ride all night with $10 wristband on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Homemade foods consist of soups, hot dogs, beef BBQ, turkey BBQ, hamburgers, french fries, meatball hoagies, pizza, bleenies, halupki, haluski, pirohy, sausage and peppers, pork sandwich with roasted peppers, wings, funnel cakes, nachos and cheese, waffles and ice cream, blooming onions, fried oreos, cake, coffee, jello shots, soda, beer, iced tea, water and so on.
