
An advisory on the DCNR website today (Thursday, June 5, 2014) states that the Beltzville Lake Beach at the Beltzville State Park in Lehighton is currently closed to swimmers due to high bacteria levels.

Beltzville Lake Beach Closed to Swimming Due to High Bacteria Levels The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) closed the beach at Beltzville State Park in Carbon County to swimming effective Thursday June 05, because of high bacterial counts in water samples from June 03. The beach will remain closed as a precaution until acceptable water sample results are received. DCNR has posted signs at the beach.Other activities at Beltzville State Park, such as picnicking, fishing, boating and hiking, are proceeding as usual.
