Friday night (May 30, 2014), the North and Middle Ward Playground Association in Tamaqua held an “End of School Year Bash” for local children. Organizers said the turnout was great, with kids of all ages enjoying the festivities.
Music was provided by D.J. Mixx, who kept the kids entertained with music as well as dance activities. Volunteers ran various games for the children.
The association has recently changed hands, and the new committee, comprised of Ray Sell as President, Brandon Brode as Vice President, Bob Bachert as Treasurer and Alicia Whah as Secretary, have hopeful aspirations for the playground. In order to help the playground continue to thrive, help is always needed, in the concession stand, with grass cutting, upkeep and fund-raising. Donations of money also, no matter how small the amount, are always welcome.
For anyone who would like to help the association volunteers in any way, the phone number to call is Ray Sell (570) 573-8264.
